How to Plan a Special Event (using one of two popular themes): "The Great Commission" or "A Walk Through the Bible"

Presenter:

John F. Mallory

Description:

Planning your next special event (such as a Kids Week, Kids Weekend, Custom designed VBS, Missions Festival, Kids Crusade, Spiritual Emphasis Week, Family Night or Family Weekend) can be simple if you focus on one of two very successful themes: 1) "The Great Commission" with an emphasis on evangelism, or 2) "A Walk Through the Bible" with an emphasis on the major events of Biblical times.

You will learn how to:

Select the theme that works best for your goals and your staff.
     1) "The Great Commission" or the "global" theme emphasizes: encouraging kids to take part in the spreading of the Good News, training kids how to share their faith with others, teaching about Missions, using music, games, crafts, and lessons to focus on the Cross, Salvation, Discipleship, and Witnessing.
     2) "A Walk Through the Bible" or the "Mediterranean" theme is a trip through the Holy Land and the lands of the Bible. Kids will learn the who, what, when, where, why, and how of the major Biblical events using music, crafts, lessons, etc.
Weigh the pros and cons of using staff and volunteers vs. using a performer/ evangelist vs. a combination of both.
Plan and promote the event, plus follow up.
